Bad news for the environment!

We took a walk threw a section of woods just north of the millwood bridge in an industrial area behind the Coka Cola warehouse and found some rather disturbing
stuff. A creek that flows from the Don river to where we think Tailor Creek park has been flooded with toxins. From the smell we could only think OIL or Gas could be the reason
for this.

Myself and Shaun did our best to locate the problem but we had no luck. Ontario Ministry of the Environment AND the City Works Dept. have been contacted and Shaun or Myself will be
checking the site every day for the next few days to see if the problem has been fixed.

If you would like to help in the search for this waste please contact Sean@dvtuc.com and we will set out to do this ourselves if the city takes to long.

 Mississauga skills park being built

What's Going on

Sunday January 23rd 2005
Mississauga MTB Park Officially a Go

Courtesy Joanne Uhlmann-

We here at the OCA are pleased to announce that after a lengthy negotiation process, the plan for a mountain bike "Challenge Park" in Mississauga is officially in the works.

The hydro corridor, which will be the location of the park, is 8.4 acres and is located on the north side of Highway 403 between the railroad tracks and Culham Trail.

The goal is to have this project underway by July with the help of some community cyclists and qualified trail builders who will be developing a design over the next couple of months.

IMBA will be doing a Trails Solutions 2 day course April 2 & 3 with Forestry and Parks assisting in terms of equipment, raw materials and small machinery.

If you wish to get involved, please contact either Luc or Jamie at Cyclepath or Joanne Uhlmann.

IMBA Trail School Workshop: October 30 + 31, 2004
The International Mountain Bicycling Association came to the Don Valley and Mark Schmidt and Lora Woolner of the IMBA Canadian Office held another Don Valley Trail School with local trail users. The hands-on workshop resulted in 400 ft of new trail (pictures). Great work!
